Strawberries ready for harvest. Plants are planted in the fall for mid spring production. Rows are fertilized with an organic mulch and grown on plastic row cover. Each plant should produce approximately 1 quart of berries in a good year. Late season frosts and wet springs can reduce yields by killing blossoms and causing fruit to rot on the vine.
