Hi Cindy -

Thanks for your lovely musings - what a bonus that you are such a great thinker and writer! I love the scenes from the farm you provide. And I can't believe our veggies will be picked the very morning we receive them. Can't get any fresher than that.

All the best, Chris

We're so happy to be back in the Delvin Farms fold.... We've already been enjoying our first share of 2006 so very much. The strawberries are AMAZING, in particular. The kale made a nice addition to some good homemade potato soup (along w/ some yummy green onion), and there's nothing quite like the lettuces from the farm for a fine salad.

Cindy -- just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you how nice it was to meet you yesterday at Turnip Truck -- and how very happy we are with the first box! This is new for us this year (we're doing a half-share as an intro), so while I knew generally what to expect, I have to say reality exceeded expectations. My daughter ate nearly a half-dozen strawberries and was clamoring for more (all before dinner), and everything just looks beautiful -- I'm planning to cook the kale and collards this weekend, a first for us. Thanks so much, and looking forward to what shows up in a couple of weeks

Hank & Cindy,

I received my first food box today and I am just thrilled! I have never seen lettuce so large and absolutely perfect. Everything was so clean and tasted so fresh, it was as if I was having dinner right in the field! You and Hank make it a joy to pick up our boxes and we love your emails!

Cindy and Hank,

The produce this past week was truly special. Those red new potatoes were sweet and firm and needed nothing but a bit of salt after boiling to reach their ultimate goodness. Hank, thanks for your wisdom in planting early tomatoes--they are sublime. I've enjoyed making the leek and chunky potato soup, and it is good cold.

Thank you both for your labor of love.
Nancy

Dear Cindy and Hank,

We are loving your produce!! Besides the wonderful assortment of goodies that is inspiring me to learn to cook and love new vegetables, you give us recipes! I have used several so far--the zephyr squash casserole, garlicky beans and greens, and zucchini bread. Plus I get the added benefit of incredible homemade vegetable stock! I knew we would eat well this summer, but I wasn't expecting to learn so much about vegetables and cooking. I have always dreamed of self-sufficiency farming, and this gives me a taste of how hard it is, and how creative you have to be when all the squash comes in at the same time! If you ever need a testimonial, especially about the less obvious benefits of your program, I am your woman. Thank you for all your hard work. It is much appreciated!

Sincerely,
Karen and Daryl

Cindy -

It has changed our lives! Mark and I schedule around the Tuesday evening sort and prep for the remainder of the week. Half the box suits us very well, and we have become so enamored of organic vegetables that we marvel how tasteless other veggies can be ("they're the right color - but it's hard to tell what's in your mouth")

Thank you for your work - your ministry into a healthier life and world. We love being a part of supporting it!
